Arroyo Seco Confluence

USACE Los Angeles River Ecosystem Study

These renderings are an illustration of the changes to the Arroyo Seco Confluence that will occur due to the US Army Corps Ecosystem Study. This project is contained in all three of the major alternatives now under consideration by the Corps.

Before

After

The Arroyo Seco tributary will be restored with riparian habitat. The stream itself will have its banks and bed softened for approximately half a mile upstream. At the confluence of the Arroyo Seco and the River a backwater riparian wetland will be established and restructuring of the banks of the river will occur in order to support vegetation on the banks.
