Description: The Arroyo Seco is one of the best known and most beautiful tributaries of the Los Angeles River. The city of Pasadena has worked to restore and improve natural areas on the Arroyo. The CleanUp site is part of Pasadena’s Lower Arroyo Seco Nature Park. The Arroyo in this area is unlined and features restored native vegetation, walking paths, and spectacular views of great historic bridges.
Special Notes: Parking is located a couple blocks north of the site at Brookside Park.
DIRECTIONS:
Bike: There is no river bike path along the Arroyo at this site.
Transit: It’s a long walk, but through pleasant old Pasadena neighborhoods. Take the Metro Gold Line get off at Memorial Park (Holly Street) Station. Walk west on Holly Street. Turn left onto Fair Oaks Ave. Turn right onto Colorado Boulevard. Turn right onto Orange Grove Blvd. Turn left onto Holly Street. Turn left onto Arroyo Drive. Turn right onto Arroyo Blvd and the CleanUp site is on your left.
Driving: Take the 210 Freeway, exit at Seco Street / Mountain Street. Go west on Seco Street. Turn left on Arroyo Boulevard. Alternately, take the 110 Freeway north until its end and continue north on Arroyo Seco Parkway. Turn left onto California Blvd. Turn right onto Arroyo Blvd, continue north below the bridges.
Parking: Park in the Brookside Park parking lot. Walk south on Arroyo Blvd. about a quarter mile to enter the CleanUp site.
