Content: | So the Pasadena City Council has decided to ban smoking at Brookside Golf Course. Now that I can sleep at night knowing that the City Council is looking out for our best interests, it should keep going and pass the following: Ban the sale of alcohol at Brookside certainly, alcohol presents a health risk as does the use of tobacco. Prohibit the use of Brookside facilities to anyone arriving in an SUV does the City Council not understand the threat to the environment posed by these gas guzzlers? Prohibit the sale of junk food (hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, doughnuts) at the golf course the City Council is dropping the ball in its obligation to protect us from obesity. Make it mandatory for anyone golfing to wear a breathing- mask to protect against inhaling any of the chemicals that are used by the greens keepers Prohibit golfing on days when the smog levels in the Arroyo Seco exceed those deemed acceptable by the City Council. Prohibit golfing on sunny days without the use of sunblock with an SPF level determined safe by the City Council. Thank you, Pasadena City Council, for protecting us from ourselves while enjoying a round of golf I for one look forward to your timely actions in these other areas which are of grave concern to us all.
