Content: | I\'d like to share some positive feedback about South Pasadena City Council\'s support of a trail project linking South Pasadena to Elysian Park, and then to Griffith Park. This project now has an acronym, LAAST (Los Angeles Arroyo Seco Trail) Project, and is an outreach program of our local chapter of Equestrian Trails Incorporated, Corral 2. I met with the staff of L.A. Council District Four on Feb. 15. Councilman Tom LaBonge has been impressed by the foresight of the current South Pasadena City Council in envisioning this completion of the Rim of the Valley Trail Link from Arroyo Seco Stables to Elysian Park and to Griffith Park. Councilmen Michael Cacciotti and Mike Ten lit up as we chatted about this idea in a February 2005 sub-committee meeting, and discussed the feasibility of the LAAST trail link. I, as others, appreciate the support of these gentlemen, along with Mayor Odom Stamps, Councilmen David Margrave and Philip Putnam for San Pascual Stables. I\'ve been impressed by Councilman Putnam\'s embracement of the equine element in South Pasadena since the beginning of his tenure, and his visits to our local stables. I\'ve had the opportunity to interact with many organizations, local and large. From adjacent neighborhood associations, Los Angeles City Council districts, to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, all are impressed by the vision of South Pasadena in supporting such a wonderful open-space project. I thought it was important that locals be informed about the wonderful work that our South Pasadena City Council is doing on our behalf, along with notifying San Gabriel residents about the LAAST project.
