Bicycle tour to visit rare Engelmann oak trees

PASADENA

The Arroyo Seco Foundation is holding a bicycle tour of local Engelmann oak trees, which once populated the Valley but are now considered rare, on Saturday.

On the tour, bicyclists will see a 400-year-old Engelmann oak, talk to the owner of an oak and learn how to identify and protect the trees.

The tour is open to the public and is suitable for all ages and levels of physical fitness. The tour starts at 9 a.m. at San Pascual Street and South Wilson Avenue at the edge of the Caltech campus.
