Friends:
This coming Monday, December 11th at 5:30pm is THE Big Event for PASADENA 100 and clean, renewable energy for Pasadena.
It is where the City Council will make the final decision on whether or not we will be achieving 100% carbon free electricity by 2030.
On Tuesday, 12/5, in a 3-1 vote the Municipal Services Committee (MSC) recommended the adoption of an Integrated Resource Plan that only achieves 55% carbon free by 2028. The recommendation is entirely unacceptable.
Without a strong showing, the City Council will move to adopt this failure of a plan.
We must make it politically unacceptable for our City Council Members to oppose the carbon free goal.
What you can do:
Date/Time: Monday, December 11th at 5:30pm
Location: Pasadena City Hall Council Chambers
100 Garfield Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101
Room S249 (2nd Floor, Southeast Corner of Building)
Attire: Black or Green
Arrive at 5:20pm to receive a green armband & follow-up instructions
When a speaker asks for PASADENA 100 to rise, if you are able, please stand up or otherwise make your presence known

Subject:City Council Public Comment - Agenda Item 26 - Support for 100% Carbon Free Electricity
Body: Dear Council Members, I am a resident of Pasadena District ____. I support 100% carbon free electricity and urge you to:
1. State clearly that Pasadena's plan is 100% carbon free electricity by 2030 throughout the Integrated Resources Paln (IRP), Renewal Portfolio Procurement Plan, and RPS Enforcement Plan,
2. Require IRP updates every 2 years from now until 2030, and
3. Require a 2024 IRP Update due in June 2024 that utilizes the building block scenarios to model how to optimally get to carbon free by 2030, and an IRP Implementation Plan that details a timeline and milestones to tactically implement the optimized carbon free scenario.
This is the last chance we will have to influence the City's plan to source electricity for the next 20 years. We must make it count.
In solidarity,
On behalf of PASADENA 100
