Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery

Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery, a community-based nursery operated by the Arroyo Seco Foundation, will provide most of the plant material for the Berkshire Creek Area Improvement Project. The nursery is in Hahamongna Watershed Park and provides plants for local habitat restoration programs and for conservation-based landscaping for local homes, businesses and public agencies.

Volunteers from the nursery will collect more than seven pounds of seeds from local native plants and provide more than 900 plants for the habitat restoration elements of the project. They are now collecting seeds and plants from the Arroyo Seco watershed specificallly for the project. They will propagate the plants in our nursery and assist with site preparation by weeding and removing invasive species in the three distinct sections of the project area. We also anticipate that volunteers will do a lot of the planting for the habitat restoration.

Community involvement will be a highlight of the Berkshire Creek restoration project.
We hope you will get involved!
