CASO -- the Council of Arroyo Seco Organizations -- is a dynamic forum for organizations working to make a difference in the quality of life in the Arroyo Seco area through issues such as transportation, environment, outdoor recreation, historic preservation, education and many more.
Many Arroyo Seco organizations have been been working together for many years on improving the parkway, saving the Southwest Museum, and restoring the watershed, CASO held its first meeting in May, 2004 and has been meeting ocassionally since then. The meetings include featured presentation on key topics affecting the Arroyo Seco region and reports from participating organizations on their activities. The sessions are always informative and lively.
The purpose of the Council of Arroyo Seco Organizations (CASO) is to promote communication and cooperation between community-based organizations working to improve and enhance the Arroyo Seco region from the San Gabriel mountains to the confluence with the Los Angeles River. CASO aspires to cultivate a sense of place that defines this unique region by addressing such issues as environmental, transportation, historic, recreational, cultural and economic resources.
