Arroyo Currents

       January 2019

We have long suppported a sustainable sediment management program at Hahamongna and hoped it would be careful to protect the wildlife and rare habitat as well as the extraordinary nature-based recreation there. But our dreams and illusions were shattered when the County Flood Control District's bulldozers invaded the serenity of Pasadena's largest and most environmentally precious park late in November. Within two weeks they reduced 50 acres of a willow forest to sawdust and began their preparations for excavating a permanent massive pit in the stream zone that passes through Hahamongna.
