Content: | I totally support the Arroyo Center for Art and Environment proposal as most appropriate use for the Desiderio site. The Habitat for Humanity plan will not make the slightest difference in affordable housing in Pasadena, and a project like that should be built where there is access to transit. Habitat is a huge, national organization; surely they\'ll have other opportunities. The Desiderio site is unique. The Arroyo\'s aesthetics, environment, location, history and future all come together at this spot. The local organizations proposing the Arroyo Center for Art and the Environment have the timing, ability and best intentions. Opportunities like this just don\'t come around often; it\'s like getting dealt a full house in poker, you gotta play the hand. Dennis Crowley Pasadena |
