Hahamongna Nursery Joins with PCC for Restoration Education Program

This Fall the Environmental Horticulture class at Pasadena City College (PCC) is going to be coming to Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery to learn about habitat and native plant propagation. They're also going to be growing plants for the Berkshire Creek restoration project in Hahamongna Watershed Park.

PCC Professor Erika Catanese gathers the students to take a look at the Berkshire Creek site.

Portia Besocke of Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery outlines the scope of the restoration project.

The project environmental engineer discusses the restoration techniques.

Portia points out the destruction caused by the Big Dig sediment removal program in the Hahamongna basin.

There will also be improvements to the parking site near the Equestrian staging area including permeable paving.

Under the stately sycamore tree, Professor Catanese outlines the course curriculum for the nursery project.
