Wake Up Pasadena: The Well Is Running Dry — Pasadena's Water Crisis

PASADENA: Stop Draining the Arroyo and the Raymond Basin!

Learn why a living stream is a better mechanism for conserving water and precious habitat in Hahamongna

It's hard to believe, but Pasadena's zoning officer approved the final EIR for Pasadena Water & Power's Arroyo Seco Canyon Project without a whimper as rioters were sacking the US Capitol. He disregarded a lot of important legal and policy issues raised by the public. He didn't even mention the concerns or provide a response. But ASF and others will appeal his perfunctory decision and force the issues to the Pasadena City Council for their consideration.

Fatal Flaws in PWP's Arroyo Seco Canyon Project

ASCP should not contribute to a reduction in the groundwater levels in the Monk Hill area or the Raymond Basin. A comprehensive groundwater stabilization and replenishment program must be adpted.
There are fish today in the Arroyo. Pasadena needs to provide an environmental flow or bypass to protect fish and aquatic species now rather than at some distant uncertain time.
A living stream approach that would maximize environmental benefits and groundwater replenishment should be implemented rather than inefficient spreading basins.

Nursery News

Hahamongna Native Plant Nursery was packed with holiday trees last week. As a public service, nursery volunteers and staff collected trees from our patrons and turned them into mulch and compost. More than 800 trees have been recycled! Thanks to all who contributed.

Now there's a new batch of choice plants for your yard and garden. Come on by soon. And don't forget to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
