Introducing the Arroyo Seco ARC

As the Arroyo Seco streams flows south toward the LA River, it reaches a key transition zone beneath the San Rafael Bridge in Pasadena, extending through South Pasadena to the York Boulevard Bridge in Los Angeless. It's the ARC, and it is a vital zone for ecosystem restoration and biodiversity in the Arroyo Seco.

We urge you to explore the Arroyo ARC and consider its biological importance and best use.

Share in the Arroyo ARC Bioblitz, a fun and educational program designed to document the wildlife and native habit.

Protecting Public Lands

We Stewards of the Arroyo Seco are all about protecting public lands. While we mostly focus on local public lands, we cannot ignore the omnious threat to our nation's public lands, our environmental heritage.

Our National Parks and public lands have been called “America’s Best Idea.” They attract people from all walks of life into the outdoors and nature. Now federal layoffs threaten to close federal campgrounds, trails, and outdoor this summer. Proposals are circulating to roll-back protections of the most environmentally and culturally sensitive federal lands, and some have even called for selling-off public lands.

California Secretary of Natural Resources Wade Crowfoot leads an important conversation to discuss why public lands are so important and how we can show our support for these special places in this crucial time.

Want To Restore a Living River in the Arroyo Seco?

Stewards of the Arroyo Seco is working to restore as much of the natural hydrology and character of the Arroyo Seco as possible. Given the spectre of future floods, fires, and droughts, it's the best way to promote biodiversity and resilience.
