Stewards of the Arroyo Seco is a grassroots organization for advocates and activists who love the Arroyo. The Stewards of the Arroyo Seco conduct advocacy and action campaigns to preserve, protect and restore the Arroyo Seco. Conservation education and stream restoration are key goals.
Stewardship is caring, but much more. It includes advocacy and activism. It means that individuals and groups exercise their responsibility to preserve, protect, and restore nature's grandeur and shape a resilient future.
Parks and open space produce health as well as economic benefits. Parks provide exercise and recreatonal benefits for all ages. They attract visitors who put new dollars into local economies. They enhance the value of residential properties and produces increased tax revenues for communities.
Open space captures precipitation, reduces stormwater management costs, and protects underground water sources, reducing the cost of drinking water.
Trees and shrubs reduce air pollution, provide shade and reduce carbon emissions. They also provide precious habitat for wild creatures and humans.
The Arroyo Seco Watershed is one of the most precious nature treasures in Southern California. Stewards of Public Land is determined to preserve, protect and restore the natural character of the Arroyo Seco stream and the surrounding commmunities. We urge you to join with us to fight for a resilient future.
