Support the Muir Field Plan

Pasadena officials are now developing a proposal to eliminate plans for an additional soccer field at Hahamongna Watershed Park and to instead dramatically upgrade a rundown softball field at nearby Muir High School in Northwest Pasadena.

The Muir plan would utilize state grant funds to improve turf areas and reconfigure the old field to make room for overlapping full-size soccer and softball fields, including lights and bleachers. After school hours it would be available for community use. Terms for the million dollar state grant require the project to be completed by June 2015.

Pasadena officials would like to formally propose the site change to state officials and are now seeking letters of support for the Muir Field plan.

The Arroyo Seco Foundation urges local residents and organizations to write letters of the support and send them to Public Works project manager Loren Pluth by April 2, 2013.
