The Arroyo Seco Foundation partnered with the Art Center College of Design on Saturday, Feb 18, as they took action removing trash and invasive plants from the Arroyo Seco Watershed. The day began as 15 Art Center students and staff removed more than a ton of invasive Castor Bean and Tree Tobacco from their hillside campus. After lunch, the group collected trash from the Central Arroyo stream channel. This Art Center group exemplified environmental service with their hard work and passion towards watershed restoration. The Arroyo Seco Foundation led a trash cleanup of Millard Canyon on Sunday, Feb 19. A group of loyal Arroyo Seco activists, a local Girl Scout troop and students from Pasadena City College joined forces to remove more than a dozen bags of trash and large metal debris from this Arroyo Seco tributary.
Arroyo Seco Foundation member Jeff Herring is honored as the Volunteer of the Month as he showed tireless dedication in his attempt to remove every piece of junk from the lower Millard Canyon.
